Reformation Wall (Mur des Réformateurs)

A towering row of stone reformers watches over the chestnut-shaded Parc des Bastions. Carved into Geneva's old city ramparts, it turns the city's Protestant heart into a hundred metres of pale, brooding sculpture.

Sobre este lugar

Set against the ancient walls of Geneva in the leafy Parc des Bastions, the Reformation Wall is a monumental tribute to the Protestant Reformation that reshaped the city and, through it, much of the world. At its centre stand four colossal figures of the movement's leaders, flanked by smaller statues, bas reliefs, and inscriptions that trace the spread of Reformed ideas across Europe and beyond. Behind the wall rise the buildings of the University of Geneva, the academy founded by John Calvin himself, so that education and faith stand quite literally back to back. Free and open at all hours, the monument sits within one of Geneva's most beloved parks, where locals play on giant chessboards beneath the trees while the stone reformers keep their silent, eternal watch.
