Kneippanlage

A free, open-air Kneipp cold-water treading pool tucked into the eastern part of the public Hellbrunn Schlosspark, behind the playground and fish ponds. Visitors wade barefoot through knee-deep cold water in the traditional stork-step, with no ticket needed.

Su questo luogo

The Kneippanlage is a genuine cold-water treading facility built in the hydrotherapy tradition of the Bavarian priest Sebastian Kneipp, who promoted wading through cold water to boost circulation and health. It engages all five senses, with a large round treading pool for the slow, stork-style walk through knee-deep water, a separate hand-bath basin, drinking fountains, and a metal arch that releases a fine mist spray at the push of a button. The installation is barrier-free, with a ramp leading into the water for wheelchair users and anyone with limited mobility. It sits in the free, public part of Hellbrunn Schlosspark, behind the children's playground and the fish ponds, on the way up toward the wooded hill. Crucially, it costs nothing, a free and family-friendly counterpart to the ticketed Trick Fountains. On warm days children and grown-ups alike happily get their feet wet here, making it one of the most playful corners of the park.
