The Historial Jeanne d'Arc occupies the old Archbishop's Palace beside the cathedral, the building where Joan of Arc's fate was decided. Here in 1431 she faced the condemnation trial that sent her to the stake, and here in 1456 a second trial annulled the verdict and declared her innocent. Opened in 2015, the museum tells her story through projections, sound and holograms rather than traditional glass cases, leading visitors up through the historic rooms as if they were witnesses to the proceedings. A final section explores how Joan has been reimagined by kings, revolutionaries and artists across the centuries.
