À propos de ce lieu
Bahnhofstrasse is the beating commercial heart of Zurich, a broad, largely pedestrianised avenue that runs for roughly 1.4 kilometres in an almost perfectly straight line from the main railway station down to the shores of Lake Zurich. Where medieval walls and a moat once marked the city's edge, there is now a procession of watchmakers, chocolatiers, department stores, and the marble facades of Switzerland's great banks. Trams glide silently along its length, linden trees soften the stone, and beneath the elegant Paradeplatz at its midpoint lie some of the most closely guarded vaults in the world. It is a street where quiet money and loud luxury share the same pavement, and where the city displays its famous prosperity with typically Swiss restraint.
