À propos de ce lieu
The Casa Masó is unique among the famous Cases de l'Onyar, the row of houses hanging over the river, in that it can be visited inside. It was the birthplace and family home of Rafael Masó, an important early-twentieth-century Catalan architect associated with the Noucentisme and Modernisme movements. Masó remodelled his family's house, which actually spans several of the old river houses knocked together, giving it an elegant white facade that stands out among its colourful neighbours, and designing beautiful, light-filled interiors in his distinctive style, with fine craftsmanship, ceramics and furniture, much of it his own design. From its windows and balconies there are lovely views directly over the Onyar. Now run as a house museum by a foundation, it offers a rare and delightful chance to step inside one of the iconic riverfront houses and into the world of a creative Catalan family.
