The Seebühne & Festival House (Bregenzer Festspiele)

The world's largest floating stage, set out on Lake Constance, where the Bregenz Festival mounts colossal open-air operas each summer. It is the perfect place to begin a walk where the Alps meet the lake.

Su questo luogo

The Seebühne, or lake stage, is the centerpiece of the Bregenzer Festspiele, the festival that has turned this quiet Austrian town into a summer opera capital since 1946. Built out over the water of Lake Constance, it is the largest floating stage in the world, seating around seven thousand spectators on the shore who watch giant scenic worlds rise from the lake itself. Behind it stands the modern Festspielhaus, the indoor festival house. From here you can take in the whole idea of this walk at once: a city framed by water on one side and mountains on the other, a place that has learned to treat its own landscape as a stage.
