Su questo luogo
The Pont de Pedra, the Stone Bridge, is the principal crossing of the river Onyar, which divides the old town of Girona from the newer districts on the far bank. A handsome stone bridge of the mid-nineteenth century, it is the busiest and most central of the city's river crossings. But for the visitor its chief delight is the view it offers: looking up the river from the bridge, you see the famous Cases de l'Onyar, the houses of the Onyar, a long, tightly packed row of tall old buildings rising straight up from the water's edge, their facades painted in a warm patchwork of ochre, red, yellow and orange, their windows and little balconies looking out over the river, with the great cathedral rising behind. Reflected in the water, this row of painted houses is the signature image of Girona, and the Pont de Pedra is the classic spot from which to admire it.
