Why we founded menedio
Cheap travel shouldn't mean shallow.
We're a small startup in Vienna, built by people who travel a lot — hostel beds, slow trains, a different city every other weekend.
And we kept hitting the same wall. Paid walking tours give you a real guide for two hours and a steep ticket. Guidebooks give you a flat list of sights and no context. There was nothing in between — nothing that let you explore a whole city with the depth of a real guide, on a backpacker's budget.
So we built menedio. Hand-written walks with local historians. A live AI guide for the questions a script can't anticipate. Restaurant picks from real locals, and live updates on what's happening in town. One app, the whole city — on a budget that keeps you traveling.
