About this place
The Pferdeschwemme is a monumental horse bath located at the foot of the Mönchsberg cliffs. It features a central group of statues, the Horse Tamer, and a series of frescoes depicting horses. It was part of the extensive court stables complex, which has since been converted into the Festival Halls. The site illustrates the importance of equestrian culture to the Prince Archbishops of Salzburg.
