True Crime Hannover
Serial Killers, Royal Murders, and Vanishing Jewels
What's the walk about?
Welcome to Hannover — a city of grand boulevards, royal history, and an unsettling criminal past. Beneath the rebuilt facades lie three centuries of dark stories: a serial killer who walked freely as a police informant, a royal disappearance that was never solved, and a jewel heist that crumbled in court three times before the loot turned up behind a bricked wall. This walk connects eight real crimes to eight of the city's most iconic sights, weaving a route from the Maschsee to the ancient Leine riverbank.
